This year´s international steam meeting Echtdampf-Hallentreffen was anniversary - already the twentieth. Our club participated in the same squad as the past years. Three full loaded cars drove out of Brno and one car of Prague. Exhibit new tram in scale 1:8 was our original intention but Jenda and his colleague didn´t manage this tram but unfinished model would decorated our stand too. So we took Bohous steam locomotive and Pavel took their small green battery locomotive finally.

We had reserved three tracks at the outside railway station "A" on the module yard as last year. And the same known faces of the attending modellers all around us. The yard had a little different shape and arrangement.

Jirka Kut brought his new model of the steam motor coach Komarek which build third year. He had assembled carriage with boiler and steam engine. He burned under the boiler for the first time here - on Friday 8th January. The case is before finishing too, but its all-wooden construction is not ideal for the steam operation. So Jirka plans to build another one metal which will use for steam operation only. Testing at tracks in Karlsruhe run without case of course. The steam engine run like clockwork at the first attempt only with a small problem with draining of the condensed water after firing up. But Jirka have to remove this problem in his home workshop. Jirka was absolutely satisfied and happy because the first attempt didn´t detect any significant failure.

We were glad to meet Elizabeth and Graham. We caught them in the middle of runs. Graham offered us to drive his English battery engine. Lukin and Tom used his offer and we brushed up our English and we had a nice chat with Elizabeth and Graham in the meantime. We invited them to the 5th Steam Olympia too. They promised to visit us surely.

Our next stop was in the centre of the steam tractors and locomobiles. There were Hansueli Yeti Gassmann and Eugen Bouvier after all as every year - our friends from the recent past. They run on beer how both jokingly call so we brought some cans of Czech beer. And we tasted their Swiss beer reciprocal. Atmosphere was exellent, Yeti speaks Czech very well. He printed a common photo from Jura´s camera on his thermal printer. Also Hansueli and Eugen promised their attendance at the next Steam Olympia 2016. We will glad to see you in Brno.

We had this photo on the spot.

Base of the Echtampf-Hallentreffen was in the black shiny truck as every year. A catering was in some tone and it was hidden in three black containers. The advertising boards above the containers offered handful of meals including pizza and steaks but this offer was given for another event probably. Arrangement of the refreshments didn´t beyond the last years. The currywurst with chips was best-selling meal among Germans primarily. But everybody could choose of several hot dishes. But stands with fresh fluffy doughnuts and roasted almonds missed us.

This year Echtdampf-Hallentreffen was anniversary - already the twentieth how was mentioned at the beginning. All world is in incessant changes and Echtdampf-Hallentreffen is slowly changing too. Particularly number of participating exhibitors. If we look back at our first visit in Sinsheim in 2008 or our first visit Karlsruhe in 2010 then number of exhibitors is decreasing. Primarily a selling stands where you can buy a materials for modellers are less and less. We can buy material only at one stand this year. Let´s wish so that unique international steam meeting takes a properly and it hold to next anniversary. Because we would contemplate our attendance in next years otherwise.
