"Open day" was organized from two reasons. The first reason was a recent change of the owner of Olympia centre. British investor (company Somerstone), which the whole shopping centre built, ran it more year and guided it on front place between shopping centres, it sold its "baby" to German capital fund. We had more questions with change of the owner, because our project is for several years ahead and financially intensive. Where will directed new owner operation and prospective next development of the centre? And how will look it on our activities, which are out off today popular "shopping activities". I do not want to state the Czechify expression. Did you hear sentence: "Where will go to shopping today?" You will not enjoy this activity in our park railway. You will buy a ticket, definitely! But you will feast one´s eyes on ride the park fifteen minutes. And you will rest from shopping. This is amazing interconnection of shopping centre and relaxation in the park. We hope that new owners will support it.
The second no less important reason was presentation our project for sponsors and cooperate companies. The sponsors have entitlement to see, how is their finance used. Construction companies can to have a look at their work at rest. Because it is not time in the course of working week.

The special train for circular tour was prepared from morning for all participants. The train was drawn by diesel locotractor Gmeinder, which executed its first run on domestic yard. The boys carefully prepared it and tried it all morning. Adult can sit down into locotractor and so it look overgrown impression compared to its steam female colleague. Traction force is very heavy and we did not have so long train at our park railway. All 5" pew cars, two 7" gondolas and one 7" tank car were included into special train.

The next group prepared facilites and gastronomy service in the workshop. We did not prepare a reception in the private room of luxury hotel, but all must work. A bar counter was installed as first - the national beverage is basis. Female members had to look after another - our eyes enjoyed at the first and after our stomaches too.

The first guests started to meet shortly before 2 p.m. - top management of the shopping centre Olympia, mayors of Brno-jih and Modrice on whose area shopping centre is located, representatives of sponsors, representatives of supplier companies and journalists. Club members perfectly look after them. Visitors made a tour of central station after welcoming speech and celebratory drink. And they made the acquaintance of our next plans. Representatives of Argo company gladly answered the all questions.

The special train ride is ready. Hot weather reigned all around, but refreshing breeze fanned passengers during ride about 5 km/h. All passengers laughed, waved, debated - simply such a funny choo-choo train.

All participants like use the asylum of workshop. There was a bit more pleasing then outside. A small refreshment was prepared for all - goulash with bread, cold meals, beer, wine and cool soft drinks too. End of afternoon was fill with informal conversation about stuff.

Our girls wanted to enjoy ride by train too.
They equiped with needed things because water intake must be abide.

How evalute this Open day? There was a useful act surely. Firstly - we met our trading partners. Secondly - we broke away from everyday reality and we forgot about worries during our stay at the park railway. At third - we tried "Par railway ceremonial open" in draft, which await us in the spring next year.
We want to thank all participating visitors for their presence despite exhausting heat. They were "roasting" during a tour of the central station and subsequent special train ride. Responses were mainly positive - they liked them maybe.
We would like to thank all members of S.M.P.D. which prepared this open day, because technical and gastronomical service was perfect. Once again thank to ALL PARTICIPANT MEMBERS for their help and we look forward to spring next year, when we will whoop it up fully!
